Two more for the midfield then! With both Stephens and Green on board this afternoon, the weakness of our central defence gets ever more obvious. With Doherty the only senior centre back under contract, the club realistically needs at least two more, and that assumes that Mambo can step up to the plate this season.
There is also a shortage at left back, which if Youga cannot prove his fitness in pre-season will also need to be addressed. Whilst we all know that Jackson can play there, you wouldn't really want that would you? So, potentially a left back required as well. The same story applies at right back, but for different reasons, where Francis as cover for Solly may work on paper, but in reality he isn't good enough, even at this level.
So, anyone for a new defence then?
