About Me

Old Coulsdon, United Kingdom
An acquired refugee from the days of exile at Selhurst Park, my first game being a dreary 1-1 draw with Millwall. I followed the team back to The Valley, and have now been with them for over twenty years. You will find me in the Rose of Denmark or in the Lower West. Follow me on Twitter @DeepestDarkest1

Pierless

There was a time when Ipswich were our feeder club, but now it appears to be Southend with that dubious honour, after the signing of right back Francis today, making it five new players to arrive at the Valley in the close season, two of them from that place with the pier. I can't say that Francis stuck out in my mind from our encounters last season, but that may not necessarily be a bad thing.

Oh, and suddenly we have a sixth in the shape of Abbott from Oldham signed less than seven hours later. Not quite the 20 a season striker we need, more a Bailey replacement in terms of the goals he is likely to contribute, but hopefully the next signing will be the one to trouble the upper reaches of the goalscorer of the season charts.
